This online startup came to Check One Two seeking improved designs for its product listing pages and seller onboarding. They also needed to build a cart and a more sophisticated checkout flow that could support multiple delivery and payment methods.
Our team designed a more contemporary and user-friendly product listing page. We also worked closely with developers to build a cart and checkout flow to support the growing needs of the company. Bowtackle’s platform could not reliably calculate shipping costs and taxes on its own, so the developers relied on a third party plugin. That dependency shaped the experience, as the checkout needed to follow a specific sequence of steps to ensure correct calculations. Keeping those requirements in mind helped to design a flow that felt intuitive to users, but made sense on the back end as well.
The impact of the new designs was immediate. With a smoother, easier checkout, sellers felt more confident using Bowtackle instead of relying on their own independent sites. In the first week after launch, around 20 new sellers signed up. As a secondary result, site traffic increased and bounce rates dropped, since those new sellers brought new customers to browse the site.
